Solway Road Bid

Lenoir City Utilities Board Electric Department will receive sealed bids for construction of the Solway Road Reconductor until 2:00 PM EST on Friday, August 11, 2017. Bids must be delivered to the Lenoir City Utilities Board Electrical Department at 200 Depot Street, Lenoir City, Tennessee 37771 at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Late bids will not be accepted nor returned. The project will generally consist of the following improvements, related accessories and other work as necessary to complete the project as identified in the contract documents:

Lenoir City Utilities Board intends to upgrade an existing 3-phase, overhead distribution circuit. The 12.47kV circuit begins at the Solway Substation near the intersection of Solway Road and Hardin Valley Road in Knoxville, Tennessee. The portion of the circuit being upgraded at this time consists of approximately 0.8 mile along Solway Road between Solway Substation and Sam Lee Road. Construction will be a mixture of wood and steel poles with wooden and fiberglass crossarms, respectively, for a three phase, single circuit 795 AAC (Arbutus) primary and a 336 AAC (Tulip) neutral. Reconnection of existing services and taps, both overhead and underground, will be included in the contract.

The Contract Documents may be obtained by prospective bidders beginning Monday, July 31, 2017 at Lenoir City Utilities Board, 200 Depot Street, Lenoir City, Tennessee, 37771. The cost is $50 per set. The cost for the contract documents is non-refundable. No individual copies of drawings or specifications sections will be available for purchase.

All Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of Tennessee as required by the Contractors Licensing Act of 1994 and related amendments thereto, with all bid submittals conforming to the State of Tennessee requirements.
