LENOIR CITY UTILITIES BOARD OPENS REGIONAL INDUSTRY SAFETY TRAINING FIELD
October 29, 2025 – Lenoir City, Tennessee — Lenoir City Utilities Board (LCUB) has completed a new, state-of-the-art safety training field located at its main office campus in Lenoir City. Designed to enhance hands-on learning and emergency preparedness, the facility serves as a regional training resource for utility personnel, linemen, and emergency responders. Among its key features are dedicated aerial climbing structures and a confined space training area, allowing crews to practice real-world safety and rescue procedures in a controlled environment.
LCUB Chief Operations Officer and General Manager Leon Shields emphasized the importance of the project, stating, “This training is essential for public utility workers and emergency responders to gain practical experience in handling hazardous situations they may encounter daily. Providing a safe, realistic setting allows them to make mistakes in a controlled environment, learn from them, and ultimately perform their duties with greater safety, confidence, and skill.”
The safety training field is now officially open. Members of the media attended an Open House event November 5th at LCUB’s main office, located at 7698 Creekwood Park Blvd. in Lenoir City. The event included a guided tour of the new facility, live safety demonstrations, and personnel interview opportunities.
