Water Services

The LCUB Water Department serves Lenoir City and the immediate surrounding area, encompassing about 57 square miles and totaling approximately 12,669 customers. The Water Distribution System consists of 2 raw water intakes, 2 water treatment facilities, 7 booster stations, 8 water storage tanks, and 307 miles of water lines ranging from 3/4 inch to 16 inch. The primary water supply is obtained from the Tennessee River and the treatment of the raw water is presently accomplished through a 3 MGD conventional surface water treatment plant. A secondary water supply is a ground water spring in northern Loudon County that supplies approximately 700,000 gallons per day and is treated through a conventional plant with pressure filters. The Water System also purchases water from First Utility District under contract for a guaranteed supply of 550,000 gallons per day with 100,000 gallons per day take or pay (or 3,000,000 gallons per month). LCUB is committed to providing the highest quality water to its customers, with tests confirming that our water services regularly exceeding the water safety requirements mandated by federal and state laws.
